Charles has been tuning for 50+ years. He uses an electronic tuner to rough out the piano at first, but always finishes by ear. His strong point is tuning each piano to its specific harmonics and bringing out the character of each individual piano. If there is character within the piano, he will work to bring it out. Although he reconditions and does some rebuilding, he enjoys bringing lost pianos back to light. He works with the customer to bring their piano back to the customer’s individual needs and desire. He has a good feel for each piano that he works on.

Pianos should be tuned every 6 months for top performance. In high-humidity areas (basements and older houses), a dehumidifying system should be considered. If no dehumidifier is used, the time between tuning should be shortened to only 4 months.
